Seasonal work in the mainland USA - How can you get hired?

With Puerto Rico's crisis, back-to-back natural disasters, double-digit unemployment rates, the advertised jobs look awfully appealing. But the mainland's unemployment rate below 4 percent makes it a great opportunity for Puerto Rican's to seek jobs there. If you're a hard-working, skilled landscaping worker looking for a job, you've come to the right place.

We Understand What a Puerto Rican Worker Is Looking For

We partner with some of the most successful companies in the mainland, and many of our employees have enjoyed great opportunities with our temporary hire programs. We are dedicated to helping you find the right job by matching you up with a quality employer that will allow you to realize your potential.

As a Puerto Rican, you're an American citizen who does not need visas to work in the United States. A conversational English level is a must, while a fluent language level is a plus. Many of our employers prefer workers with a driving license and a CDL, or heavy equipment license is another major plus.

Your Safety Is Always A Priority

The process of converting a Puerto Rico license in most states is easily done. We make safety our number one priority. We take it upon ourselves to regularly demand workplace safety improvements. Expect 6 to 9 months of steady employment, ideally between 40 and 55 hours of work per week. If the relationship works out for both you and the employer, you might consider having a permanent position.

What To Expect (Housing, Transportation, and Salary)

When it comes to housing and transportation, we require companies to reimburse the inbound costs incurred by the worker from Puerto Rico if he has bonafide status with the employer at 50% of the contract. By the end of the contract, the employer is required to return the worker back to Puerto Rico at the cost of the employer plus the corresponding subsistence allowance as per the Work Agreement.

The company will provide transportation to and from work as well as to the store at least once per week. Most companies provide a company vehicle or van for employees. We will make sure the company sets up safe and furnished housing at an economical cost, including basic appliances and bedding, somewhere that we would personally live.

Hourly wage will depend upon the job location, as the average cost of living varies from an area to another. Generally, you can expect to be paid around $250 a month on hourly wage and benefits.

How Long Does It Take?

The process usually takes between 2-3 months to complete. Any other recruiters promising you less time most likely means that companies are not recruiting legally. Puerto Rican Public Law 87 requires registration with the Puerto Rican government, which takes time.
